RENO, Nev. (KOLO) Since its inception, Honor Flight Nevada has made an impact on thousands of lives. It’s created a family of veterans and their loved ones, and that’s thanks, in part to the generosity of Dick Whiston.
The Vietnam veteran sponsored the most recent trip to Hawaii. Dubbed Mission: Pearl Harbor, the trip took 20 veterans, the majority of whom served in World War Two, to Honolulu on an inaugural trip to Pearl Harbor.
“I was very interested in something new and different and I thought Honolulu was a brilliant idea,” Whiston said. “In fact, I wish I had it first.”
