Reed Girls Cross Country Regional

In the 3A, Elko senior Alex Klekas has been one of the top runners and in the 1A, Sierra Lutheran senior Jared Marchegger is one of the fastest runners.

In the girls High Desert race, McQueen senior Imogen Olvera was first last week in 20:42, followed by Reed senior Nirrel Kaplan in 20:48.

Reed had five runners in the top eight and won the team title with 25 points. Spanish Springs was second with 63 points.

Reno sophomore Penelope Smerdon, the defending North 4A Region champion, did not run last week as she was recovering from a sore foot, but she is expected to race Friday.

Damonte Ranch is strong again in the Sierra League, taking the team title with 33 points and five runners in the top 12 last week,  including Carly Legenbauer who won in 20:34, just ahead of teammate Marena Middleton in 20:42.

Douglas was right behind in the team race with 36 points and five runners in the top 10. Read  More>
