January is National Radon Action Month, and a program at the University of Nevada, Reno can help you test your home for Radon, to reduce your risk of lung cancer.
The program is offering free test kits to Nevadans until February 29th.
Radon is a radioactive gas that is colorless, odorless and tasteless. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency estimates that nearly 21,000 Americans die each year from radon-caused lung cancer; which is more than people killed from secondhand smoke, drunk driving and house fires combined.
